About Lorem Ipsum
Lorem Ipsum generates placeholder copy by paragraph, sentence or word, in either the classic Latin or readable English. Latin is the traditional choice precisely because it is meaningless — nobody reads it instead of judging the layout. English filler is better when showing a draft to a client who might be alarmed by Latin.
How to use it
- Choose how many paragraphs, sentences or words you need.
- Pick Latin or English.
- Click Copy.
Questions
Where does "Lorem ipsum" come from?
A scrambled passage from Cicero’s De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum, written in 45 BC. Typesetters have used it since the 1500s.
Why not just type "test test test"?
Repeated words produce unrealistic line lengths and word shapes, so the layout looks different from how it will with real copy.
Lorem Ipsum is free and runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no watermark, no limit on use.
