Resize Image
Exact pixel dimensions with optional ratio lock.
About Resize Image
Resize Image sets exact pixel dimensions, with an optional ratio lock so the image is not stretched. Useful for meeting an upload limit, fitting a layout, or cutting down a phone photo that is 4000 pixels wide when 1200 would do. Presets cover the common web widths and percentage reductions.
How to use it
- Drop in an image. Its current dimensions appear above the fields.
- Type a width or height, or use a preset. With the ratio lock on, the other dimension follows automatically.
- Click Resize and download.
Questions
What width should I use for a website?
1920px for a full-width hero, 1200px for most in-page images, 800px for something in a column. Beyond the displayed size you are only making the page slower.
Why does the result look soft?
You are scaling up past the original size — the browser has to invent the extra pixels. The tool warns when this happens. Enlarging cannot add detail that was never captured.
Can I resize without keeping the proportions?
Yes, turn off the ratio lock. The image will be stretched, which is rarely what you want — crop instead if you need a different shape.
Resize Image is free and runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no watermark, no limit on use.
