Info & Metadata
Inspect page count and properties, and rewrite title or author.
About Info & Metadata
Info & Metadata shows what a PDF says about itself — page count, page dimensions, the software that produced it, creation date, title and author — and lets you rewrite the descriptive fields. Worth checking before sending a document externally, since the author and producer fields often carry a real name or an internal tool you would rather not disclose.
How to use it
- Drop in the PDF to see its properties.
- Edit the title, author, subject or keywords.
- Click Save a copy with new metadata.
Questions
Why does metadata matter?
It travels with the file. A CV exported from a work computer can carry your employer’s software and your full account name; a document can reveal who really wrote it and when.
Does this remove all hidden data?
It rewrites the standard descriptive fields. It does not strip embedded XMP blocks, tracked changes or content hidden behind layers.
What is the Producer field?
The software that generated the PDF — Word, InDesign, a scanner driver. It cannot be edited here because it describes how the file was made.
Info & Metadata is free and runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no watermark, no limit on use.
