About Sort & Dedupe Lines
Sort & Dedupe Lines cleans up a list: alphabetise, sort by length or numerically, shuffle, strip duplicates, trim whitespace and drop blank lines. It reports how many lines went in and came out, so you can see exactly how many duplicates there were.
How to use it
- Paste your list, one item per line.
- Choose a sort order and tick the cleaning options you want.
- Copy the result.
Questions
Is duplicate removal case-sensitive?
Only if you tick the option. By default "Apple" and "apple" count as the same entry.
Why does numeric sort behave oddly on my list?
It reads each line as a number, and anything unparseable becomes zero. Use it only on lists of plain numbers.
Is the shuffle actually random?
Yes — it uses the browser’s cryptographic random source with a Fisher–Yates shuffle, not the biased sort-with-random trick.
