Strip HTML
Pull the readable text out of markup, safely.
About Strip HTML
Strip HTML extracts the readable text from markup, safely. The HTML is parsed with the browser’s DOMParser, which builds a document without executing anything, and script and style elements are removed before the text is read. Paragraph breaks can be kept and link URLs preserved in brackets.
How to use it
- Paste the HTML.
- Choose whether to keep paragraph breaks and link URLs.
- Copy the plain text.
Questions
Is it safe to paste HTML from an untrusted source?
Yes. DOMParser builds an inert document — scripts are never run, images are never fetched, and script and style blocks are stripped before reading.
Why keep link URLs?
Because plain text loses them entirely. If the text is going somewhere the reader cannot click, having the address in brackets preserves the information.
Does it handle whole web pages?
Yes, though you will get navigation and footer text too. Paste just the article markup for a clean result.
Strip HTML is free and runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no watermark, no limit on use.
